Re-Edition of Gunta Stölzl's famous ''Prellerdecke''
In 1926, Gunta Stölzl designed a bedspread for the student rooms in the Prellerhaus at the Bauhaus Dessau. At that time she was head of the Bauhaus weaving mill and therefore the first female master at the Bauhaus.
Authorized new edition based on a design by Gunta Stölzl for a series of blankets, bags and scarves dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Bauhaus. Created by Wallace Sewell for Bauhaus Dessau in collaboration with muse-store. The project was first initiated by muse-store and the design shop bauhaus dessau and realized in collaboration with Monika Stadler, Gunta Stölzl's daughter. Although none of the original bedspreads no longer exist, Wallace Sewell worked closely with Monika and muse-store, examining archival drawings and photographs to reconstruct and craft the graphic, linear design to pay homage to Gunta's iconic blanket.
