Inspired by ''La Japonaise'' by Claude Monet

This work by Claude Monet is now part of the collection of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.

It depicts Monet's wife, Camille Doncieux.

The 1860s and 1870s were a time when Europe was influenced by Japanese art and culture, known as "Japonism."

The garden in the village of Giverny, near Paris, strongly resembles a Japanese garden, and the house boasts a large collection of ukiyo-e prints by Kuniyoshi, Hokusai, and others. Monet's home and studio are also located there.

In 2020, the long-established Japanese manufacturer IBASEN created a faithful reproduction of the fan from Monet's work.

Founded in the late Edo period over 400 years ago, IBASEN continues to produce fans, folding fans, and Japanese paper products. This is an object steeped in tradition and history, remaining true to its original production methods.
