Be unique, be a unicorn! Ten years ago, it finally happened. Due to numerous requests, the powerful Unicode Consortium finally introduced the unicorn emoji. A year earlier, over 250 new emojis had been added. The unicorn was missing. This prompted calls for its inclusion in lists and petitions. The unicorn is a complex symbol. But the inclusion of the unicorn emoji can certainly also be seen as a consequence of the greater significance and visibility of a queer movement.

To celebrate the anniversary and the unicorn exhibition at the Museum Barberini, our cap features an original version of the unicorn emoji – and why? Because – as the New York magazine The Cut headlined in 2014 – because it's magical!
