The unicorn is a mythical creature, existing between reality and fantasy. For centuries, people believed that unicorns truly existed. There were even serious expeditions to prove the unicorn's existence.
This special existence of the unicorn can also be seen in artistic depictions. In a vibrant 15th-century illustration of wild people and animals, the griffin has a fantastical coat, but the unicorn's spots are derived from the fur of a fallow deer.
Together with designer Marije Couprie of Global Affairs in Amsterdam, we have dedicated an entire series of beautiful products to this special image from the MAK collection in Vienna. Respectful of the original, yet completely timeless.
